Important Dates to Remember – Tax Time is Fast Approaching in Canada

Ladies and Gentlemen,

This is our usual time of year when our firm reminds all our valuable clients and friends in Canada about the important dates surrounding the filing of your 2016 tax return.

What is the due date for a personal income tax return?

Personal income tax returns, except for those of self-employed individuals, are normally due by April 30th, as is any amount owing.  Penalties and interest may be charged for late returns or late payments.

Because April 30, 2017 is a Sunday, the due date for 2016 tax returns is Monday, May 1, 2017.

Self-employed individuals have until Thursday, June 15, 2017 to file their 2016 personal tax returns, but any amounts owing must still be paid by May 1st.

If you can’t afford to pay, file your tax return on time to avoid late-filing penalties!

For our existing clients, thank you for your support and we look to you for referrals in your respective personal and business networks.

For those of you who do not have a professional tax service provider, please contact us to make an appointment to see us this tax season.

Our firm is a proud member of the Efile Association of Canada (http://efile.ca/).

We look forward to serving you this tax season.
