Managing Partner of DeFreitas & Associates interviewed on Business Advantage (Part 2)
Stanley DeFreitas, Managing Partner of DeFreitas & Associates was a guest on the St. Vincent and the Grenadines radio program called Business Advantage that is hosted by Jerry George, a public relations consultant and freelance journalist on March 4, 2013.
The interview was a continuation of last week’s discussion on personal finance with a focus on estate planning and ‘The Importance of a Harvest Strategy” and its significance for those who have an active business and are near to or already in the process of selling out their business or handing it over to another generation OR for those who have an estate or inheritance to manage or expect to inherit a large estate and how to manage that same estate.
Mr. DeFreitas, an international accountant and consultant with over 40 years of experience, emphasized the importance of ensuring that local business enterprises in St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) must not only have a succession plan in place but arrange affairs in a fashion that will lead to a smooth inter-generational transfer or a divestiture that will provide the benefits necessary for the ‘harvester’ and his/her beneficiaries to follow.
